Mr. KOTHARI PRESENTED
WITH
GIF MILLENNIUM AWARD
Mr. Navaratan Mal Kothari, Chairman of KGK Group of companies and an eminent philanthropist of India was presented with GIF Millennium Award at a glittering function organized by Golden India Foundation in a hotel at New York, USA on 28th March, 2006.
Dr. P.C.Lunia, Chairman, Golden India Foundation honored Mr. Kothari with this prestigious award recently instituted by GIF to recongnize the humanitarian services rendered by a business person. Speaking on this occasion Dr. P.C.Lunia said, “Mr.N.M.Kothari is not only a businessman committed to ethical values but has also made seminal contribution to the noble cause of humanity. A living testimony of his humanitarian efforts is Bhagwan Mahavir Cancer Hospital of Jaipur (India). Mr. Kothari has set apart an endowment of rupees ten crore to run the hospital. Dr. Lunia further said that Mr. Kothari is also involved in a number of projects, which are specially beneficial to common man. In this connection, I would like to make a mention particularly of the heritage lake of Pink City Jaipur called JAL MAHAL Thanks to his generous contribution place of Tourist Attraction”.
The KGK Group is celebrating its 100th anniversary and has a diamond business with offices in China, Japan, Hong-Kong, Thailand, Belgium, Mumbai, new York. His wife Anila Kothari and younger brother Prakash Kothari are also actively engaged in his philanthropist projects.
The GIF Millennium Award carries with it a citation and a plank and is presented to those who evince high ethical standards in business dealings and makes humanitarian efforts as an integral part of his business concerns. Mrs. Ratna Lunia, Chairperson of the GIF women’s wing proposed a vote of thanks at the end of the function.
