CONCLUSION
In the preceding chapters an attempt
has been made to probe into the mysterious influence gemstones exert
on human life. Undoubtedly gemstones are the most precious
components of jewellery, coveted and sought after by almost all
human beings as a potent means to enhance their personal power and
authority. But, apart from this vitally important materialistic
aspect, gemstones are widely believed to influence our life in some
or the other way. The main source of the information collected in
this study is based on the prevalent beliefs in society as well as
personal individual experiences. The author does not claim that the
information made available in this treatise is authentic and has a
scientific basis. If people can believe in the power of
spirituality, in the power of religion and in the existence of God
there is no reason why they cannot believe in the astrological
significance of gemstones.
God is taken to be the
origin of the world. The vast majority of human beings has passively
accepted God as a creator and originator of everything. They
criticize and condemn those who do not toe their line. To them the
existence of God is obvious. To question his existence is considered
not only absurd but blasphemous, sacrilegious, diabolical. The
concept of God and the varying interpretations of this mysterious
phenomenon are responsible for the fragmentation of human society
into multitudinous faiths and groups pitted against one another
often giving rise to many a bloody and devastating war. Just as the
real answer to the mystery of God has to be derived from experiments
with the Self and explanations of the facts of life, the answer to
the question whether gemstones have anything to do with human
happiness and human miseries can be found in testifying to the
beliefs about gemstones through individual experiences and
experiments.
I have come across a large
number of people who speak no end of the miraculous powers the
gemstones possess. There are hundreds of things on this planet which
have not yet been proved to be valid scientifically but even then
the people believe in them.
These days, astrology is
regarded as a science by many scholars and some universities have
even gone to the extent of introducing it as a study programme, as a
regular course leading to the earning of university degrees. An
effort has been made here to gather some facts about the beneficial
or malefic effects of gemstones on human life as perbeliefs of
people. The readers are free to believe in them or reject them. It
is a vast subject and thousands of people around the world who claim
to have made an indepth study of gemstones are using it as their
profession.
Let us take the example of
VASTU SHASTRA. Even the people of the West whose psyche is ingrained
in the dictum ‘seeing is believing’ are increasingly getting
fascinated with VASTU beliefs and have started behaving the way
VASTU dictates. Surprisingly, some people have begun to believe in
it even more than some Indians do.
The Blue Sapphire is
immensely popular among the Indian people who have deep-rooted faith
in the power of astrology. About seventy percent of the people
encountered in the market place or streets are found wearing rings
studded with specific gemstones. When we ask them whether the
wearing of gemstones in rings has made any difference in their
lives, their replies are quite emphatic and positive.
Out of all the gemstones
Neelam or Blue Sapphire is considered to be the most miraculous.
Sometimes it gives quick results also. The present author has been
dealing in blue sapphires as a businessperson as well. He has made
an in depth study about its colours and about its capacity for
providing the wearer with immediate relief. How its rays are linked
with different planets and how they affect us is somewhat baffling
and intriguing but just as the arrival of an e-mail is the proof of
its having traversed the cyber space thousands of miles without
being visible to millions of people it may have met, the results
produced by blue sapphires are the proof of its efficacy.
To many, Blue Sapphire
holds the key to human happiness. Instead of indulging in
polemics, the author would like to offer a humble suggestion that
people must make individual experiments on the basis of what has
been stated here and should draw their own conclusions only
after the results of their experiments.
It is hoped this study of
Blue Sapphire will prove useful in helping people to overcome their
difficulties and mitigating their worldly suffering and
sorrow.
