PRESTIGIOS INDO-AMERICAN FRIENDSHIP AWARD

Dr. P.C.Lunia, President, Golden India Foundation, was honoured by World Business Forum by presenting to him the prestigious Indo-America Friendship award in recognition of his relentless efforts spread over three decades to promote Indo-American friendship through a series of constructive activities. The award was conferred on him by Mr. Bhishma K. Agnihotri, former Ambassador – at – Large for India, at a special gala function held at Hotel Hilton, New York in the presence of 250 dignitaries from all walks of life. The event and the dinner were sponsored by World Business Forum.

In his speech of acceptance of the award DR. P.C.Lunia said: “It is time vigorous, efforts were made to strengthen Indo-American friendship. Both India and America are confronted with the problem of terrorism. The joint venture can prove to be highly effective”. Dr. Lunia further said, “Each one of over 1 million persons of Indian origin living in USA is an important culture ambassador of India. It is his moral duty to promote the positive image of India among Americans and educate them in its rich cultural heritage which is rooted in the celebrated dictum ‘VASUDHEVA KUTUMBAKAM’- the whole world is our family. He also advised the community of Indian brothers based in USA to remove misunderstanding about India prevalent among the people of USA.

Similarly they should remove the misunderstanding about America that exists among the people of India whenever they visit India. The recent visit of US President George Bush to India was a historic step paving the way for uninterrupted supply of ingredients needed for Indian reactors to meet the needs of electricity. Let us be instrumental in preserving this newly forged bond of mutual cooperation and respect. “Soon a new era of intimate relationships between the two countries will usher in” said Dr. P.C.Lunia.
