I once told an
intellectual that most of the modern things we all use in our
daily lives, which have been invented during the last 150 years
are mostly American inventions and American ingenuity, be it
a motor car, an Airplane, a TV, Movies, a Ball Point Pen, Razor
Blade, Synthetic Clothes, the Computer or Internet and the list
goes on.
All of these were
invented and popularized in America. I asked him to name
a few things that we use in our daily life, which have been
invented by any other country of the world within the last 150
years. Surprisingly he was not able to name even a single item.
Does it not speak volumes in itself of what America has contributed
to the human society ?
It is true that most of the things
that we are using in our every day life have been invented,
improved and popularized by America. To name a few, here is a
list of some of the inventions.

Immigration
Some people consider
America, as a bastion of xenophobia and bigotry but the truth is
that today the US takes in more immigrants than at any point in
its history. Be it the America’s first multimillionaire -John
Jacob Astor or the inventor of telephone - Alexander Grahm Bell
or the Hollywood pioneer -Louis B. Mayer or the inventor of
video game - Ralph Baer, all are among the immigrants to
America. People all over the world always entertain the idea of
immigrating to America as compared to any other place across the
globe.
Technology
America has been in
the vanguard in bringing technology reforms all over the world
and has helped tremendously in making the lives of billions of
people around the world easy and comfortable. It has given
the world motion pictures, the telephone, the television, the
computer, the Internet, the airplane, the VCR, and a host of
other machines and devices that have vastly improved the quality
of human life.
Enlightened Power
America despite
being the sole superpower has never misused its supremacy. It is
the most powerful country, but has always fought against
imperialism. In fact, it has used its military strength to
liberate Nazi Germany, South Korea, Afghanistan and Hussein’s
Iraq and countless other countries. America also sought to
prevent many other countries from increasing their all angled
control over their innocent population and others.
Creating Wealth
America has served
as the hub for the world economy. America is a country with
capitalistic approach where everyone gets an equal opportunity
of earning and creating wealth. Not only the natives but also
the foreigners get an opportunity to work for better jobs. The world economy
rests on America’s 12 trillion dollar pillar.
Generosity
Great wealth does
not always lead to great generosity. But, Americans have always
been on the forefront when it comes to providing support and aid
in the face of disaster or calamity. In the year 2000, Americans
gave more than $ 200 billion in charity, which was much more
than the total amount donated by the rest of the world put
together. Since World War II, the U.S. Government has given
billions of dollars in foreign aid, which may be taken as the
highest amount in the world just given away as charity. America
has always proved to be a friend in need.
Medicine
The entire world
looks up to America when it comes to making any break through in
the field of medicine. Americans helped cure polio and
tuberculosis, developed vaccines for hepatitis B and yellow
fever, pioneered modern chemotherapy, and produced the CAT-scan,
MRI, and a host of other modern medical devices.
Human Achievement
Americans have
always pioneered human endeavors to unleash new inventions and
discoveries. Be it the first transatlantic flight, the first man
on the moon, breaking the speed of sound and building the Panama
Canal - all serve as a testimony to American courage and
ingenuity.
The Automobile
One of the biggest
contributions, which America has made to the world, is the
invention of cars. Today’s blooming automobile industry owes its
success to Henry Ford’s initiative that made it possible for an
average person to experience the wonder and comfort of a car. It
is because of this great American that hundreds of companies
exist and offer an ever-growing number and variety of
automobiles in the world.
Entertainment
Majority of the
movies the world watches, the television shows they tune into,
and the music they listen to, are produced in the United States.
It is an undeniable fact that the whole world loves to watch
American TV and cinema.
Defending and
Helping Freedom Bloom
America has always
believed in the concept of Non-Offensive Defense (NOD). Despite
being the sole superpower in the world it has always believed in the
principle – ‘live and let live’. America has never craved for
establishing its authority over other countries of the world. On
the contrary, it has helped several countries to get rid of the
cruel dictatorship. It has appealed to all the nations across
the globe to live in peace and harmony. That is the reason, why
America was in the forefront to establish ‘United Nations
Organization’ and the ‘World Bank’.
The most important
thing a man needs is freedom and America has been the only
country whose sacrifices have helped to fight out imperialistic
invasion in World War I, World War II and Korean War. In
addition, America defeated many other dictators and mass
killers. It is hard to imagine what the world would have been
like, had America not come to the rescue of Britain, France and
Russia during World War II from the tyranny of Adolph Hitler, notwithstanding the gas chambers used by Hitler in Germany and
in other countries.
It was the historic
Atlantic Charter declaration on August 14, 1941 by Franklin
Roosevelt and Winston Churchill, which promised to restore
democracy in all the countries liberated by America, its allied
forces and countries under their direct rule.
It is of historical
importance to note that in the Second World War America did not
fight for land or natural resources, but it fought for basic
human rights and principles of democracy that America sought to
spread all over the world. Consequently, America was highly
successful in changing feudal war-mongering psyche of Germany
and Japan and forced them to renounce nuclear weapons and their
imperialist designs on their neighbours once and for all. At the
same time America promised the whole world that it would help in
restoring full political independence in the countries which it
had liberated alongwith its allies.
When Winston
Churchill and Franklin Roosevelt met at Atlantic Ocean,
Churchill agreed to all the demands for freedom for all the
countries under the British rule, but he was very adamant in
refusing to promise to give complete independence to India. This
was the only point, which remained a stumbling block in reaching
mutual agreement. But Franklin Roosevelt was also adamant and
insisted that India should be given full freedom after the
war and ultimately Churchill had to give in to President
Roosevelt’s demand and agreed to give complete independence to
India after the war. Here is an excerpt from the famous
historical Atlantic Charter :
THE
ATLANTIC CHARTER
The
Historical Atlantic Charter issued jointly
By Prime Minister of England
Mr.
Winston Churchill
And
President of America
Mr. Franklin D. Roosevelt
On
14th August 1941
The Mid Atlantic Ocean
This Atlantic
Charter was an important document as it included the declaration
of the principles that served as the basic statement of allied
war aims.
Their difference over colonialism was apparent in later
arguments about the meaning of the third article of the Charter,
dealing with the right of self-determination. This article
stated that the United States and Great Britain :
"RESPECT THE RIGHT
OF ALL PEOPLES TO CHOOSE THE FORM OF GOVERNMENT UNDER WHICH
THEY WILL LIVE; AND THAT THEY WISH TO SEE SOVEREIGN RIGHTS AND
SELF-GOVERNMENT RESTORED TO THOSE WHO HAVE BEEN FORCIBLY
DEPRIVED OF THEM."
The Willkie
speech of October 1942 forced Roosevelt’s hand. Talking to the
press the next day, the
President reaffirmed that the Atlantic Charter’s right of
self-determination applied to all peoples under the colonial
rule as well as to Axis conquest. It is because of America that
today people are living in freedom in most parts of the world.
It is only America,
which has been instrumental in creating and sustaining United
Nations Organization for the last 58 years and thereby stopping
wars in many different parts of the world. It was America which
sent thousands of its military personnel to defend UN Security
Council resolution on Korean Peninsula and other parts of world.
In 1962, it was
again the interference and fear of American Forces, which helped
India in getting immediate cease-fire from invading armies of
China.
It was the massive
American Food Aid in the name of PL 480, which saved millions of
people in India in 1960’s. Even today, it is the only rescue for
many in several parts of the world, especially in Africa.
It was American
diplomacy and American might that stopped Stalin from conquering
the rest of Europe and many other parts of the world and putting
the iron curtain over them. Ultimately America became the winner
in the long drawn cold war, was able to help lift the iron
curtain and emerged as the only super power in the world.
Can we imagine the
condition of the world, if the other party or the other super
power (Stalin and Communist Soviet Union) had won the cold war
and what they would have done to humanity, if we can co-relate
it with what they did to their own people during the communist
rule ? More than thirty million of their own citizens were
killed by these new rulers and most inhuman concentration camps
called Gulag were created in Russia, where millions of people
simply perished or were killed.
Can we imagine a
series of such Gulag camps spread all over the world ? What
untold sufferings would it have brought to humanity for
centuries to come ? And this whole genocide was done in the name
of socialism and muffling any thought of independent thinking.
Similarly, Mao-Tse-Tung
did the same thing with his own people in China and killed over
60 million innocent Chinese civilians during his long barbaric
rule, in the name of so called cultural revolution.
It was America that
was looked at as a savior of Humanity and beacon of hope
and millions of people from all parts of the world came to
America to escape persecution on religions or political
grounds and come out of evils of poverty from their country.
People chose to come by their own free will to settle in America
in pursuit of their undeniable human rights of freedom and
happiness, which are guaranteed by the U.S. Constitution. They
forgot their own countries and they took pride in calling
themselves Americans. They got themselves acclimatized to the
new country and became so patriotic for America that millions of
them were ready to sacrifice their lives to safeguard freedom of
America all around the world. Whether it was World War I or
World War II or the cold war, they were in such deep love for
their new adopted country that they wanted to protect the
newfound spirit of freedom with their last breath even by laying
down their own lives.
It is America that
has taught the world to live in harmony, even if people come
from different countries belonging to different castes, creeds
and religions. Today more than 98% of Americans are not its
original natives. They came from over 100 different countries
and created one of the most vibrant, powerful and prosperous
societies in the world, and are living today with least amount
of inter-racial tension and conflict. In fact, it is an ideal
model for the world to follow.
In all other parts
of the world, any foreigner who settles down in another country
resides there with a stigma of a foreigner for his whole life. While,
in America just within a few years of his arrival the American
society welcomes him with open arms and he soon gets assimilated
in the new vibrant culture.
America has not only
played a significant role in bringing the international
community together for peacekeeping, but also in promoting
democracy and economic justice to prevent conflicts, and in
mediation to help resolve disputes peacefully, before they lead
to war among the nations.
In many situations,
America has offered its support as outside intervention for
restoring peace. America has stood up as a neutral body to grant
protection to people in other countries who appealed to the
international community for help, as they were unable to defend
themselves from intra-social aggression, brutality and genocide.
For all these
reasons people and countries across the globe love America with
a feeling of great pride and gratitude.

*******************************************************************
CHAPTER 4
America’s recent
indulgence in the war against Afghanistan and Iraq and earlier
with Vietnam has been taken negatively by many people world
over. Although these wars were fought to put on end to terrorism
and restore peace in the world at large, yet America needs to
promote this awareness to wipe off the hatred from
the mind and hearts of the people.
This hatred is the
root cause of terrorism in the world. Today, America is
facing terrorist intimidation from all over the world only due
to abhorrence. Nearly 80% of the population in the countries
like Middle East, Asia, Europe, and Latin America or anywhere in
the world, have misconceptions about America and its policies.
For the same reason people perhaps ignorantly blame and link
America with incidents with which America is neither related nor
at all responsible for them. These are perhaps the reflections of
worldwide anger and hatred against America.
If we seriously
analyze the developments during the last 80 years, we will find
that Stalin and Mao’s communist parties all over the
world helped generate hatred towards America. They spent tens of
billions of dollars in their efforts to cultivate hate and anger
against America. This was also a part of so called cold war.
The question arises, why do communists harbour hatred towards
America and its values ?
The answer is very
simple. Lenin, Stalin and their followers wanted to bring the
whole world under their steel grip and dominance under
the cover of socialism. With the same aim they opened branches
of the Communist Party in over 100 countries around the world,
under direct control of Moscow.
Subsequent to
dropping of atom bombs on Japan by America, Stalin had to change
his tactics of world aggression. As he could not dare fight
directly at a military level, for the reason that American
Military power was certainly much superior and its nuclear
weapons were surely capable of annihilating Russia, if they ever
tried to fight against America directly on military basis. So he
changed his tactics and adopted clandestine actions backed up
with terrorist activities in fermenting hatred towards America.
This drive was not
limited to other countries only, but even in America itself he
spent billions of dollars to change the public opinion, thereby
creating an anti American feeling within America – which
manifested in the form of anti Vietnam war rallies. Communists
targeted blacks and Spanish in particular to create rift against
whites by applying the age old trick of – divide and
rule.
In order to bring
Communist party’s leadership and its supremacy in the world,
they could not tolerate supremacy of God.
Therefore, they directly proclaimed that, "we do not believe in
God", and started demoralizing all those who believed in God.
America is a nation
that believes in God, on each of its coin and currency notes
is imprinted – "In God We Trust". Communists believe that they
can create total vacuum in human mind and heart, once the
institutions of God are destroyed. With their mass propaganda,
the communists fill this vacuum with the images of their party leaders. People
under communist supremacy started worshiping them without
questioning anything they say, because by nature they were not
used to question the authority and supremacy of God.
In view of the above
to fight terrorism, America has to undo the damage caused
over the last 80 years. To achieve this goal, the best policy is to
bring out the light of truth as truth itself is so powerful that
all the misgivings in people’s mind about America will certainly
be washed away.
The Truth
There is a
misconception created by Communists all over the world that
America is an imperialist power. The real truth is just
opposite. In the last 100 years America has repulsed the
imperialist design of Germany in the First World War, Hitler’s
aggression in the World War II, Stalin’s ambition and aggression
to rule the world, China’s (Mao’s) conspiracy and aggression
with the help of North Korea to rule South Korea as well as
South East Asia, China’s aggression on India in 1962, Iraq’s
aggression on Kuwait and its evil designs on certain parts of
Saudi Arabia.
These are a few
cases of international imperialism and aggression done by
communists and totalitarian dictators, which could be repulsed
only with the help of financial, military might and moral power
of America.
In the present scenario,
we can exactly see the same horror of holocaust, which Hitler
was creating in Germany to conquer the rest of the world. In fact, the
truth is that it was only the military and economic power of
America, which defeated Germany and its imperialist designs to
control the world. One must appreciate how better off they
are under democracy, rather than being in the clutches of
Gestapo and Gulag Camps.
Even after the World
War II, it was Stalin’s shrewd imperialist designs, through
which he brought most of the Eastern Europe under his iron grip.
America fought strategically but patiently with this
imperialism, through ‘cold war’ and ultimately after 40
years of struggle, it was able to win over and liberate all the
countries in Eastern Europe and other parts of the world. This
enabled the people in those countries to live in freedom and
prosperity.
Today, it is
horrifying to imagine as to what would have been the map of the
world without America’s vital role in anti-imperialist war. One shivers to think of Gestapo’s barbaric ethnic
cleansing, the creation of Gulag camps in Russia and the so
called cultural revolution, where tens of millions of innocent
Chinese were slaughtered by Mao’s evil designs. Everyone in the
world is overwhelmed with the feeling of gratitude, love and
affection towards America and its concept of peace and liberty
in pursuit of happiness.
There is yet another
misconception in the minds of people that America waged a war on
Iraq to capture its oil fields.
It is a totally
false and malicious propaganda that Americans wanted to invade
Iraq to take over its oil wells. The truth is just the opposite.
Americans wanted to free the oil fields from the devilish clutches
of Saddam Hussein, who was using the oil wealth of the country
to fulfill his own wicked intentions to rule over whole of
middle east and control major part of the world’s oil supply and
to become an absolute dictator. During his tenure as a dictator
of Iraq, he killed over one million Iraqis just to fulfill his
own hunger for power. Once America liberated Iraq and Iraqi oil
fields from the clutches of Saddam, America gave back the
complete control over oil reserves to United Nations. It clearly
demonstrates that America never had any evil design over Iraqi
oil wealth. If we simply examine the past records, America spent
billions of dollars to free Kuwait and its oil wells from the
control of Saddam Hussein and after liberating it; America
returned oil fields back to Kuwait. America did not keep even an
inch of Kuwait’s land or its oil reserves.
Similarly, during
the Second World War, America sacrificed lives of millions of
its soldiers to liberate Europe from the clutches of Hitler, and
as soon as France and even Germany were liberated, Germany,
France and Italy got back every inch of their land under their
own control. America did not ask for any price for its help
and sacrifice from these countries. Instead America gave over 20
billion dollars in 1946 (which is equal to over 200 billion
dollars today) in the shape of Marshal plan aid for Europe and especially to
Germany that had initiated war against America. Thus, America
helped to rebuild the post war Europe into a happy and
prosperous democratic society.
It must be kept in
mind that America is helping Afghanistan after liberating it
from the clutches of Talibans and Al Qaeda, and now it is
spending billions of dollars to rebuild the shattered Afghan
society and its economy. America is also generously giving
billions of dollars to rebuild Iraq into a modern democratic
society.
The most crucial
question is that how do we change the outlook of the people for
America by transforming their hatred into love and respect for
America. For this purpose we have to bring out the truth about
America and let it seep into the hearts and minds of the
people all over the world. Only this can help people in
realizing the true loving and caring nature of Americans and the
ideals of liberty, justice and pursuit of happiness – the
three most important values, which America stands committed
and avers that these are the three fundamental rights
that every one in the world should enjoy.
I propose the
following action plan for transforming people’s hatred into love
for America :
1. 20
international satellite TV channels in all major languages of
the world should be launched to propagate the fundamental
values and contribution of America.
2. To further
promote American values, 100 new Radio Stations in all major
languages of the world should be commenced.
3. 100 new
magazines and newspapers should be started for achieving the
same objective.
4. Regular
seminars should be held at village, city, state and country
level, where people can interact and come to realize the true
benevolent nature of America.
5. In all American
Consulates/ Embassies, a separate set-up may be provided to
help coordinate such activities and seminars.
6. Every year
5,000 press reporters and personnel from electronics media may
be invited to America to witness how happy, affectionate and
caring an average American is, and how liberty, justice and
pursuit of happiness are actually practiced in America.
All these actions
would have a multiple effect on people all across the world
about their understanding of America. People will realize the
true nature of America and gradually seeds of love, affection
gratitude and respect will germinate in their hearts and mind.
Once people realize the truth about American intentions and
values, they will oppose the terrorist activities against
America. They will even try to stop such activities themselves
and will help the American authorities in combating terrorism.
For this purpose
American Government should set up a network of toll free
telephone numbers in every country where any one can tip off
American officials regarding any probable terrorist activities.
To encourage this 10,000 green cards should be issued every year
to those people who help
America to fight with these terrorists. An annual fund
of 100 million dollars should also be set up to give cash rewards
ranging from 1000 to a million dollars.
People all over the
world have been fed with extreme negative views against America
for the last 80 years and the hatred so developed, has reached an
extent that it requires a committed effort to undo it.

CHAPTER 5
Though America has
already liberated people of Iraq from the tyrannical oppressions
and killing fields of Saddam Hussain, yet this war in Iraq is
not over and still brave American soldiers continue to get
killed every day.
To eradicate this
problem once and for all, and let Iraqi citizens enjoy the
fruits of freedom, it is imperative that the following steps
are taken on top priority :
1. Winning the hearts of Iraqi people
(i) It is most
important to win the hearts and minds of Iraqi people. Then only
they will help in identifying and capturing all the
troublemakers and remnants of Baath Party, which in all
practical senses is the Communist Party of Iraq. That is the
reason why the Russians and the leftist German politicians were
so against the war and they wanted their comrade Saddam to stay
in power, enabling them to continue to loot Iraq easily the way
they had done it for 25 years.
(ii) Five new TV
channels on entertainment, education, news, etc. must be
introduced in Iraq with immediate effect. In the present era,
this is the only cost effective way to reprogram and to educate
the population at large about the real benevolent intentions of
American Government. America took similar kind of action during
the crises in Germany and Japan after World War II. Then, people
of these countries believed Americans for their honest
intentions. Now the leftist media is trying its best to poison
the minds of people and unfortunately BBC has also fallen prey
to their trap.
(iii) The new Iraqi
TV and Radio should expose the atrocities perpetrated by Saddam
on people of Iraq in the same way as Hitler was exposed after
World War II for his Gas Chambers. The graphic details of the
Genocide committed by Saddam on innocent Iraqis must be shown.
Let the hatred simmer in such a way that Iraqi people themselves
destroy remaining elements of Saddam’s rule.
(iv) Declare Saddam
and his party leaders as the evil crafters who committed
genocide on their own brethren in Iraq.
2. Economic Aid Program
(i) Once political
and social stability is established, a special $ 500 million
‘Aid Package’ may be announced to promote tourism in Iraq. It
will give a big boost to Iraqi economy.
(ii) Oil production
and its sales may be given the top priority. Emphasis may be put
on increasing the revenue, which in turn will help to improve
infrastructure of Iraq.
(iii) Invite foreign
investors to set up hotels and other tourist facilities in Iraq.
This will create additional employment potential.
(iv) More foreign
carriers should be induced to fly to Baghdad. Landing and other
charges may be abolished at least for five years. Airline fuel
must also be sold at lowest price in the region.
